The residents of Asneda semi-urban center, Asmat sub-zone, explained that the available social service facilities in the area are the basis for the improvement of their livelihood. They also commended the available health and educational facilities in the semi-urban center. Asmat, 8 April, 2012 – The residents of Asneda semi-urban center, Asmat sub-zone, explained that the available social service facilities in the area are the basis for the improvement of their livelihood. They also commended the available health and educational facilities in the semi-urban center.

One of the residents, Mr. Mohammed Ali Abdalla, expressed conviction that the impact of social service facilities in the semi-urban center has played significant role in safeguarding the wellbeing of residents. Likewise, Ms. Amna Osman commended the government’s commitment to ensure the availability of such reliable social service facilities in remote areas.

Mr. Osman Mohammed, Administrator of the semi-urban center, indicated that the establishment of elementary, junior and secondary schools in the area has been a stepping stone to increased registration at all educational levels. He further indicated that more class rooms and laboratory facilities have been built to extend the capacity of the high school in line with the growing number of students in Asmat Boarding School.

The semi-urban center of Asneda is located 120 Km. north of Keren and has 5,000 residents.
