Gelalo sub-zone: Vibrant Independence Day celebrations are long-lasting

The inhabitants of Gelalo sub-zone expressed conviction that the vibrant Independence Day celebrations would last forever commensurate with the Eritrean people’s unparalleled sacrifice to achieve freedom. Gelalo, 17 May, 2012 – The inhabitants of Gelalo sub-zone expressed conviction that the vibrant Independence Day celebrations would last forever commensurate with the Eritrean people’s unparalleled sacrifice to achieve freedom.

Among the inhabitants, Mr. Berhane Gebru and Ms. Sherifa Mohammed Balua, said that unlike the experience of the majority of the African countries, Eritrean independence was made possible through a long journey of liberation struggle, and that they have made enough preparations to colorfully celebrate the 21st anniversary of Independence Day.

Ms. Fatina Seid and Mr. Ali Osman on their part asserted that the Independence Day celebrations would highlight the Eritrean people’s protracted struggle for liberation and ensuring national dignity, as well as the failure of anti-Eritrea designs.

Indicating that the inhabitants have played active role in organizing the celebrations, Mr. Mamadu Momin, Administrator of Gelalo Administrative area, expressed satisfaction with the decision reached by the Northern Red Sea

Administration to hold the Independence Day celebrations in Gelalo at the regional level.

Mr. Abubeker Ibrahim, Chairman of the National Holidays Coordinating Committee office in the sub-zone, indicated that preparations have been finalized to accomdoate 800 invited guests, and that sport contests feature in the glamorous week-long celebration.
