Asmara, 18 May 2012 – A number of observers expressed conviction that the colorful Independence Day celebrations attest to the Eritrean people’s steadfastness against external conspiracies.

The citizens inside the country and those from the Diaspora, who observed the ceremony marking the inauguration program conducted at Bahti Meskerem Square on May 17, said that the spirit of enthusiastic celebrations that have gone sky-high demonstrate the persistent resolve of the Eritrean people to keep intact the staunch resistance against anti-Eritrea designs.

Mr. Beyan Daniel and Ms. Zufan Gebru who resides in the US, voiced satisfaction with celebrating Independence Day in the Homeland amidst fellow citizens, and lauded the people’s spirit of vibrantly celebrate the great event.

Mr. Abel Mehari on his part asserted that Eritrean freedom was achieved through unparalleled sacrifice, and that as usual he renews his pledge to honor the trust of martyrs.

In the same vein, Ms. Amna Amr expressed satisfaction with the self-enthusiastic popular participation in national development programs. She also indicated that the attachment of the Eritrean community abroad with Independence Day is demonstrated through the colorful celebrations they hold where they are.
