Agordat, 19 May, 2012 – The branch office of the National Holidays Coordinating Committee in Agordat sub-zone said that preparations for the 21st anniversary celebrations of Independence Day have been finalized.
Mr. Ismael Abdalla, member of the Committee, indicated that the regional Administration of Gash-Barka has decided to mark the great event in Tesenei at regional level, and that the Administration of Agordat sub-zone has organized a carnival portraying natural resources in the locality, and the criminal acts of colonizers on the inhabitants.
Mr. Abdalla Omar, also member of the Coordinating Committee, explained that active participation has as usual been demonstrated on the part of the local inhabitants to colorfully celebrate the Day.
Indicating that the Eritrean people have made unparalleled sacrifice to achieve freedom, Mr. Fiseha Haile and Ms. Nura Abdurahman, among the inhabitants, expressed resolve to back up endeavors being exerted to reinforce the national development drive.
Reports indicate that the three Administrative areas of Agordat sub-zone as usual organize community-based get-togethers to celebrate Independence Day in patriotic spirit.
