Members of the National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW) in Italy voiced resolve to back up national development programs in the Homeland. They made the pledge at an assessment meeting they conducted in Firenze City.
Asmara, 21 May 2012 – Members of the National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW) in Italy voiced resolve to back up national development programs in the Homeland. They made the pledge at an assessment meeting they conducted in Firenze City.
Ms. Nigisti Tsegai, Chairperson of the Women’s Association community, indicated in a report she presented that members would collaborate with the Association in constructing women’s training center in Keren city as part of the national endeavors to upgrade women’s capacity in all aspects.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Zemede Tekle, the Eritrean Ambassador to Italy, underlined that Eritrean women have made history through making unparalleled contribution to the armed struggle for independence. He further noted that the women’s community should work hard in bequeathing this national value, and called for increased participation of the community members for the realization of the Association’s objectives.
Participants of the meeting held in-depth discussion and put forth views regarding the agenda items discussed, according to reports.
