The National Holidays Coordinating Committee in the Southern Red Sea region said that preparations to mark the 21st Independence Day Anniversary celebrations in the region have been finalized.
Assab, 20 May 2012 – The National Holidays Coordinating Committee in the Southern Red Sea region said that preparations to mark the 21st Independence Day Anniversary celebrations in the region have been finalized.
Mr. Salm Ali, chairman of the Coordinating Committee, indicated that community-based celebration activities have been organized, besides sport activities, cultural shows, carnivals and different shows by students. He further indicated that the different activities would feature Independence Day celebrations which would be held in Assab at regional level, and that the port city has adequately been embellished.
Among the inhabitants of Assab, Ms. Amina Yasin expressed conviction that Independence Day Anniversary celebrations is not only an event of colorful national festivity but also an occasion with which citizens would renews their pledge to honor the trust of martyrs.
Ms. Kedija Otuban on her part asserted that the special event is being celebrated at a time when the country’s bright future is becoming progressively evident and when external conspiracies are culminating in utter-failure.
Reports indicate that Independence Day Anniversary celebrations in the Southern Red Sea region would start on the 23rd of May and continue for four days.
