President Omar Hassan Al-Beshir arrives here to participate in Independence Day anniversary celebrations

President Omar Hassan Al-Beshir of the Republic of Sudan arrived in Asmara today to take part in the 21st anniversary celebrations of Eritrean Independence Day.

Asmara, 23 May, 2012 – President Omar Hassan Al-Beshir of the Republic of Sudan arrived in Asmara today to take part in the 21st anniversary celebrations of Eritrean Independence Day.

President Omar Al-Beshir was accorded warm welcome by President Isaias Afwerki on arrival at Asmara International Airport. The welcoming ceremony also involved salute of the Guard of Honor.

During his stay, he would hold talks with President Isaias as regards enhancing bilateral relations and on issues of mutual interest to both countries.
