Independence Day colorfully celebrated in Anseba region

The inhabitants of 11 sub-zones in Anseba region celebrated the 21st Independence Day anniversary in a patriotic spirit. Keren, 24 May 2012- The inhabitants of 11 sub-zones in Anseba region celebrated the 21st Independence Day anniversary in a patriotic spirit.

During the celebrations in Keren on the 23rd of May at regional level, Mr. Gergis Girmai, Administrator of Anseba region, stressed that thanks to the prevailing strong unity of nationals inside the country and abroad, a strong socio-economic foundation is being laid.

He further explained that the country’s enemies, scared of our development, would never desist from weaving conspiracies. Likewise, the Eritrean people would continue to reinforce resistance and intensify efforts to strengthen development endeavors.

Mr. Ande Adhanom, chairman of the Holidays Coordinating Committee in the region, called on citizens to keep intact their determination to ensure the country’s sovereignty and step-up development endeavors.

A carnival in which 48 institutions took part depicting the tradition, lifestyle and spirit of popular resistance was also staged.

Moreover, various songs and dramas, including calisthenics show featured on the occasion.
