Eritrean Ministry of Education and Sudanese Ministry of Higher Studies and Research sign agreement as regards mutual collaboration
The Eritrean Ministry of Education and the Sudanese Ministry of Higher Studies and Research signed an agreement to work jointly in enhancing the potentialities of higher education institutions in line with the expanding partnership between the two countries in various domains.
Asmara, 26 May, 2012 – The Eritrean Ministry of Education and the Sudanese Ministry of Higher Studies and Research signed an agreement to work jointly in enhancing the potentialities of higher education institutions in line with the expanding partnership between the two countries in various domains. The accord was signed by Mr. Semere Rusom, the Minister of Education, and his counterpart Prof. Khemis Kajo Kunda, Minister of the Sudanese Ministry of Higher Studies and Research, on May 26 at Hotel Asmara Palace.
The contents of the agreement pertin to developing the capacity of higher education institutions, undertaking various scientific researches, exchanging experience regarding the handling of education system, human resource development, introducing modern education facilities and exchange of scholarship opportunities on the part of both countries, reports indicated.
Both parties expressed conviction that the accord constitutes an important element for boosting the education sector’s capacity of the two counties.
Meanwhile, the executive directors of higher education on both sides held discussion on management experience, limitations and remedial mechanisms, in addition to future undertakings and curriculum that would enable exploitation of national resources.
It is to be recalled that the delegation of the Sudanese Ministry of Higher Studies and Research, headed by Prof. Khemis, arrived in Asmara on May 23 to take part in the 21st Eritrean Independence Day anniversary celebrations.
