Eritrean communities residing in the German cities of Berlin and Heidelberg, as well as the US city of Houston colorfully marked the 21st anniversary of Independence Day. Reports indicated that various activities including cultural shows and sports contests featured in the celebrations.
Asmara, 1 June 2012 – Eritrean communities residing in the German cities of Berlin and Heidelberg, as well as the US city of Houston colorfully marked the 21st anniversary of Independence Day. Reports indicated that various activities including cultural shows and sports contests featured in the celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion of Independence Day celebrations in Berlin City, the Eritrean Ambassador to Germany, Mr. Petros Tsegai, called on the community members to keep intact the prevailing spirit of harmony among them and continue to demonstrate staunch resistance against anti-Eritrea schemes.
Mr. Musie Fisehaye, Secretary of the Eritrean community in Berlin, said that the Day is being celebrated at a time when the nation has registered significant economic progress through the integrated endeavors of the Eritrean people and their leadership. The participants on their part expressed readiness to mount stanch resistance against eternal conspiracies.
In the same vein, the Eritrean community members in Heidelberg voiced deep conviction that anti-Eritrea designs would be foiled through the prevailing spirit of steadfastness on the part of nationals inside the country and abroad. They further voiced readiness to back up the national development drive.
During the celebrations held in Houston City, USA, the community members said that they would fulfill national obligation as regards reinforcing the country’s development and staunch resistance against hostile schemes. They further indicated that the spirit of patriotic zeal demonstrated in the celebrations of the great event have portrayed the Eritrean people’s persistence in backing up national development programs and resolute resistance against enemy conspiracies.
