Popular campaign being carried out in Daero-Kawlos to establish wood enclosure

The inhabitants of Daero-kawlos Administrative area, Gala-Nefhi sub-zone, are engaged in popular campaign to establish wood enclosure in the area on the basis of afforestation and soil and water conservation undertakings. Asmara, 2 June 2012 – The inhabitants of Daero-kawlos Administrative area, Gala-Nefhi sub-zone, are engaged in popular campaign to establish wood enclosure in the area on the basis of afforestation and soil and water conservation undertakings. Reports indicated that the task involves the plantation of 10,000 seedlings in the 20-hectare wide enclosure, in addition to preserving archaeological leftovers within the area.

Indicating that such a task is a demonstration of the Eritrean people’s exemplary norms, Ms. Rig’at Abebe and Ms. Rigbe Gebregziabhier, explained that the community has been actively involved in the undertaking. Also among the inhabitants, Mr. Gebrehiwet Zere and Ms. Letebirhan Fisehaye, said that the community would reinforce participation in similar tasks.

Mr. Tewoldemedhin Debesai, Administrator of the locality, stated that the inhabitants are as ever ready to carry out community-based undertakings in line with the national development program, and that seedlings planted by the community last year have mushroomed well. He also called on the local inhabitants to demonstrate similar handling as regards the seedlings being planted through the popular campaign.
