The Southern Red Sea region Ministry of Health branch office conducted training in Assab city aimed at increasing the awareness of citizens on the importance of blood donation and establishing blood donors association. Assab, 10 June 2012- The Southern Red Sea region Ministry of Health branch office conducted training in Assab city aimed at increasing the awareness of citizens on the importance of blood donation and establishing blood donors association.
In a speech he delivered Mr. Gebrekidan Hager, head of administration of the Ministry of Health branch office in the region, explained on the importance of blood donation in saving lives during accidents and delivery and establishing blood donors association.
The health experts who conducted the training reiterated that blood donation has no side-effect and that males could donate blood in every three months and females in every four months.
Participants on their part expressed on the importance of conducting such training programs and called for extending the training in remote villages without being confined in cities. They also expressed resolve to establish blood donors association and contribute their part.
