It made the remark at an assessment meeting conducted at sub-zonal level.
Stating that there are 18 schools in the locality that render service from kindergarten to high school level, Mr. Tahir Mohammed Suleiman head of the branch office, pointed out that more efforts should be exerted by the pertinent bodies and the local inhabitants to attain the desired level of female participation in education.
Mr. Mohammed-Ali Ibrahim, head of the Education Ministry’s regional branch, said that the Ministry would focus on assigning charismatic teachers in the locality in line with the purpose of enhancing female participation at school.
Mr. Gebrezgi Dimam, head of adult education and media in the Ministry, underscored that the implementation of an intensive community sensitization scheme is essential for the realization of the set goal.
The participants called on the pertinent bodies to work jointly for the abolition of harmful customs that impede female participation in education.
