Kisad-Emba inhabitants carry out soil and water conservation campaigns

The Administration of Kisad-Emba Administrative area, Senafe sub-zone, said that the local inhabitants are engaged in soil and water conservation campaigns. It further explained that active popular participation has been demonstrated in the task which is being carried out twice a week. Among the community members, Mr. Girmai Haile and Ms. Lemlem Gebreyohanes, asserted that the task would also target preparation of farmlands and others that could ensure communal benefit.

Mr. Habtish Tewoldebirhan from the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in Senafe sub-zone indicated that popular land preparation activities are being carried out at sub-zonal level, and that a total of 1,000 hectares has been prepared for cultivation in the rainy season. The local inhabitants would as usual assist the elderly, families of martyrs and needy people around them, he added.
