The Weaving School in the semi-urban center of Segeneiti gave training course to a total of 62 women belonging to families of martyrs and the needy. The training course which involved weaving and knitting was provided with a view to strengthening and sustaining the financial capabilities of the women’s families. Segeneiti, 13 June 2012 – The Weaving School in the semi-urban center of Segeneiti gave training course to a total of 62 women belonging to families of martyrs and the needy. The training course which involved weaving and knitting was provided with a view to strengthening and sustaining the financial capabilities of the women’s families.
The beneficiaries expressed conviction that the training would help them improve their livelihood, and voiced appreciation with the way it was organized. Stating that they had no professional experience before, Ms. Letehans Teklezgi and Ms. Weini Abraha, among the beneficiaries, voiced satisfaction with the training provided to them.
In the same vein, Ms. Tirhas Tewolde and Ms. Abrehet Teklebirhan voiced conviction that the knowledge they have acquired would enable them improve their income.
Ms. Genet Woldeyesus, manager of the Weaving School, explained that it is giving such training for the seventh time focusing on women of such status. She also said that it has further been providing the women with weaving machines in the form of loan.
Segeneiti Weaving School trained a total of 1,500 women since 1995, according to reports.
