Senafe, 14 June 2012 – The residents of the semi-urban center of Serha, Senafe sub-zone, expressed satisfaction with the reliable potable water supply in the locality.
One of the residents, Ms. Azmera Zemariam, indicated that the availability of such facility has mitigated women’s burden of domestic task, and called on the residents to ensure its judicious use.
Monalisa Gebreyohanes, a student, said on her part that girl students are in a position to enjoy ample study time as the task of fetching water has become a matter of short distance walk. Likewise, Ms. Fireweini Araya explained that potable water supply in the area has become a basis for improved community health, and that the task of safeguarding the facility is but the responsibility of the community members too.
Mr. Gebrekidan Hagos, Administrator of the semi-urban center, disclosed that the regular monetary contribution by the residents is covering the expenses of fuel supply, salary for guards and maintenance.
