The inhabitants of Nefasit Administrative area, Ginda sub-zone, said that they are engaged in a popular campaign with a view to promoting soil and water conservation, improvement of wood area and reinforcement of agricultural activities. Ginda, 14 June 2012 – The inhabitants of Nefasit Administrative area, Ginda sub-zone, said that they are engaged in a popular campaign with a view to promoting soil and water conservation, improvement of wood area and reinforcement of agricultural activities.
Among the inhabitants, Mr. Adem Ahmed Shinkahai and Ms. Jim’a Mohammed Seid, expressed conviction that enrichment of underground water resources through construction of latent water catchment is vital for the availability of ample potable water supply and boosting irrigation farming in the area.
Similarly, Ms. Huria Abdalla said that the community members would raise their participation in such tasks that ensure food security.
Mr. Kesete Gebretinsae, an engineer guiding the popular undertaking, explained that one of the four underground water catchments to be built in the locality has already been finalized.
Mr. Eskinder Isaac, Administrator of Nefasit Administrative area, said that a total of 500 manpower is engaged in the undertaking, and that it would be sustainable thanks to the readiness of the community members.
