Gash-Barka region: Over 378 million Nakfa paid in benefit scheme and citizens’ contribution to families of martyrs
The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare’s branch in Gash-Barka region indicated that over 378 million Nakfa has been paid in benefit scheme and citizens’ contribution to families of martyrs.
Barentu, 15 June 2012 – The Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare’s branch in Gash-Barka region indicated that over 378 million Nakfa has been paid in benefit scheme and citizens’ contribution to families of martyrs.
Stating that the accomplishment of the task is a cause of deep satisfaction, Mr. Eyob Kidan, head of the branch office, explained that the Government made a total of 378 million Nakfa payments in benefit scheme to families of the martyrs since 2004, and that 12 million of which was made by citizens’ contribution inside the country and the Diaspora. The Eritrean people and their leadership demonstrate in deeds their pledge to honor the trust of the martyrs. And the prevailing popular commitment as regards supporting the families of martyrs should be bequeathed as a norm to the next generation, he added.
Among the family members of fallen heroes, Mr. Tesfamichael Demoz and Ms. Hawa Awed, stated that their livelihood has been improved in line with support extended by the people and the Government, and that they feel due pride as the country remains both dignified and in peace.
Likewise, Ms. Askalu Gebremariam and Ms. Meryem Hamd voiced conviction that the support being extended to them attest to the living sense of honor on the part of the Eritrean people and their leadership. They further called on the young generation to fulfill their pledge through discharging national obligations.
