Exhibition on the occasion of June 20 depicting atrocities committed by the enemy against the Eritrean people opens

An exhibition on the occasion of June 20, Martyrs Day, depicting atrocities committed by the successive Ethiopian colonizers against innocent Eritrean people was officially opened on 16 June by Mr. Kahsai Gebrehiwot, Administrator of Maekel region.

Asmara, 17 June 2012- An exhibition on the occasion of June 20, Martyrs Day, depicting atrocities committed by the successive Ethiopian colonizers against innocent Eritrean people was officially opened on 16 June by Mr. Kahsai Gebrehiwot, Administrator of Maekel region.

The exhibition organized by artist Gidai Gebremichael in front of the Ministry of Education in Asmara reflects the massacre of 750 nationals in two hours in Ona who had no crime except of being Eritreans, the rampant killings and intimidations over the people by the Derg regime in Asmara and crime of the TPLF regime against innocent Eritreans emanated from hate that they don’t like the color of their eyes.

From spectators Mr. Efrem Haile explained that even though the exhibition represents only small part vis-à-vis the grave crime committed by the enemy against the Eritrean people but nevertheless it has strong message to pass to posterity.

Mr. Gidei Gebremichael who organized the exhibition disclosed that there is no Eritrean who was not affected by the brutality of the Ethiopian regimes and that the exhibition is in continuation he organizes every year on the occasion of June 20, Martyrs Day, aimed at passing the history of martyrs to the new generation.

The exhibition is open until June 23.
