The sub-zonal Administration of Barentu said that families of martyrs there are witnessing improvement of livelihood thanks to the commendable contribution being made by the local inhabitants in their support. Barentu, 18 June 2012 – The sub-zonal Administration of Barentu said that families of martyrs there are witnessing improvement of livelihood thanks to the commendable contribution being made by the local inhabitants in their support.
Mr. Solomon Tewolde, head of economic development in the sub-zone, explained that supporting families of fallen heroes is being nurtured as a norm among the inhabitants. He further indicated that the local inhabitants contributed more than 600,000 Nakfa to back up the benefit scheme payments by the Government, in addition to the labor support consistently extended to them in agricultural and construction tasks by communities.
Among the martyrs’ family members, Ms. Meskela Ketema expressed satisfaction with the support being made by the Eritrean people and the leadership.
Pointing out that supporting families of martyrs has become a noble obligation of the Eritrean people, Mr. Andai Debas, one of the contributors, voiced conviction that the task gives deep moral satisfaction.
Mr. Solomon also asserted that it is the responsibility of every citizen to play vital role in bequeathing such a cherished value to future generations.
