44 Animal Science professionals obtained training in artificial insemination which was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Eritrean Livestock Corporation. The Eritrean Livestock Corporation stated that the beneficiaries of the training course, which involved practical and theoretical aspects, are members of the Agriculture Ministry and farmers Associations, besides its staff members.
The professionals are expected to play vital role in joint endeavors to genetically improve the available livestock species, and thereby boost milk production.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Arefaine Berhe, Minister of Agriculture, pointed out that the impact of such training is significant as livestock management, veterinary and artificial insemination respectively are vital skills towards ensuring food security. He also called on the graduating professionals to exert further endeavors for better outcome.
Mr. Desu Tesfatsion, Manager of Eritrean Livestock Corporation, explained that the Institute is making considerable investment in human resource development, and that similar practical training courses would be organized in the future.
The beneficiaries of the training expressed readiness to demonstrate dedication in their respective duties.
