Call made for the inhabitants of Afabet sub-zone to step up participation in crime prevention

The police commander in Afabet Sub-zone has called on the local inhabitants to raise participation in crime prevention. He made the call at a seminar he conducted with junior and secondary students, as well as the inhabitants of Qilamet, Felket, Naro-Ans, Naro-Tebeat and Kubkub Administrative areas. Afabet, 26 June 2012 – The police commander in Afabet Sub-zone has called on the local inhabitants to raise participation in crime prevention. He made the call at a seminar he conducted with junior and secondary students, as well as the inhabitants of Qilamet, Felket, Naro-Ans, Naro-Tebeat and Kubkub Administrative areas.

The Eritrean people are reputed for their ethical manners and mutual respect which play vital role in crime prevention and accidents. Hence, we need to work hard to maintain such values and bequeath them to the young generation, he stressed.

Sgt. Ogbamichael Girmai, head of criminal investigation in the sub-zone, stated that high sense of abiding to law and ethics on the part of youths is a determinant factor for peace and reliable security in a given country. The community should work diligently in correcting instances of bad habits among students, he elaborated.

The participants expressed conviction that seminars of this kind are vital in raising community awareness regarding law.
