Electricity supply facility has been put in place at the health station in Hashishai, Hagaz sub-zone, through solar panels. Hagaz, 26 June 2012 – Electricity supply facility has been put in place at the health station in Hashishai, Hagaz sub-zone, through solar panels.

Stating that the availability of such facility is a springboard for improvement of quality service, Mr. Andemeskel Aron, head of the health station, indicated that 95% of mothers in the locality deliver through the assistance of health professionals, and that the institution has given maternity services to 130 mothers in the past 6 months alone. The role of community health volunteers was considerable in this regard, he added.

Mr. Shiden Araya, Associate Nurse in the locality, equally expressed conviction that community awareness as regards maternity issues has become a reliable asset.

The inhabitants of the locality voiced satisfaction with the introduction of electricity supply facility at the health institution, and said that they would enhance participation in endeavors to control communicable diseases.

Mr. Mohammed Musa Hamd, Administrator of Hashishai Administrative area, pointed out that the local inhabitants have become beneficiaries of health, educational and potable water supply facilities thanks to the measure they took to promote community-based style of living.

The health station in Hashishai serves the inhabitants of the Administrative areas of Hashishai, Golyan-Shengin, Badob and Shelab.
