Reports indicated that considerable accomplishment has been made as regards rural electrification in Debarwa sub-zone, which program was launched with a view to ensuring outreach to 27 villages. Debarwa, 26 June 2012 – Reports indicated that considerable accomplishment has been made as regards rural electrification in Debarwa sub-zone, which program was launched with a view to ensuring outreach to 27 villages.
Mr. Berhe Belai, coordinator of the program, indicated that active participation is being demonstrated in the process on the part of the local inhabitants and EDF members, and explained that the task is due to be finalized before the onset of the rainy season.
Mr. Woldegiorgis Fisehatsion, inhabitant of Zirbien, commended the Government’s commitment to ensure social justice, an indication of which is pervasive implementation of such facility.
Ms. Ogba Afwerki on her part expressed conviction that the availability of such facility is relatively more crucial in the daily lives and health of women, and that women’s active participation in the process evolves from such a conviction.
Mr. Simon Negasi, pointed out on his part that he has gained vital experience through working in rural electrification program for three years. He also voiced appreciation for the active popular participation the inhabitants of Debarwa sub-zone have demonstrated.
