Sawa, 29 June 2012 – The National Holidays Coordinating Committee in Sawa said that preparations have been finalized for the 5th National Youth Festival to be conducted 13 to 15 July there.
Lt. Colonel Temesgen Samuel, chairman of the committee, indicated that accommodations and facilities have been made ready for 30,000 participants, besides the task of erecting additional light poles in the bazaar area and other places where participants would move in great numbers. He further explained that the Haikota-Sawa and Agordat-Sawa roads are being renovated to make easy the process of transport as the rainy season starts, and that the public transport institution of Harat has made ample preparations for the event.
Meanwhile, reports indicated that health centers in Sawa are making preparations to provide adequate medical services during the event, and that 140 toilets and shower rooms have been built.
Besides, 64 restaurants and snack shops have already fulfilled the requirements to provide service at reasonable price. The businesses would obtain supplies from the institute of Sawa Food Supply as the Ministry of Tourism would carry out service quality control follow-up on them, Lt. Colonel Temesgen added.
