SWP holds double benefits, say students in Assab sub-zone

Students participating in the Summer Work Program (SWP) in Assab sub-zone said that such an exposure is a good basis for nurturing the culture of work, besides the conducive environment it creates for students to integrate theoretical and practical knowledge. Assab, 30 June 2012 – Students participating in the Summer Work Program (SWP) in Assab sub-zone said that such an exposure is a good basis for nurturing the culture of work, besides the conducive environment it creates for students to integrate theoretical and practical knowledge.

Abel Hagos, one of the students, asserted that the exposure is also a basis for promoting exchange of experience and sense of work, as well as national values.

Indicating that the participants are engaged in the planting of tree seedlings and follow-up of those that had flourished, Seida Egahlie, expressed conviction that the program would have a positive impact as regards combating climate changes.

Mr. Berhane Gebregziabher, coordinator of high schools and the SWP in the Southern Red Sea region, explained that considerable accomplishment has been registered regarding soil and water conservation through the program, and that free tutorial classes and sports activities are undertaken as part of the program.
