Call made on inhabitants of Halhal sub-zone to raise awareness as regards law

The Police Commander in Halhal sub-zone called on the inhabitants of the locality to raise awareness as regards law and crime prevention. Halhal, 6 July 2012 – The Police Commander in Halhal sub-zone called on the inhabitants of the locality to raise awareness as regards law and crime prevention.

In a seminar he conducted with the inhabitants, Sub-Lieutenant Teklemariam Tekie, police commander in the region, pointed out that even unintended violations of law involve liability, and that every community member should raise awareness pertaining to law. He also called on the inhabitants to extend a helping hand towards the endeavors for bequeathing cultural and national values, as well as preventing criminal acts and discouraging taboos.

Mr. Omar Mender, head of the PFDJ branch office in the sub-zone, called for increased role of parents in the process of bequeathing those values to the young generation.

The participants of the seminar put forth views as regards the ways and means of reinforcing police-community relations, among others.
