The Farmers’ Association members in Alebu Administrative area, Haikota sub-zone, said that they have raised production including animal feed. Haikota, 7 July 2012 – The Farmers’ Association members in Alebu Administrative area, Haikota sub-zone, said that they have raised production including animal feed. They made the statement in a meeting they conducted with Mr. Hamd Yusuf, Administrator of the sub-zone.
Mr. Hamd and Mr. Yonas Yosef, head of the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in Haikota sub-zone, called on the farmers to further integrate their resources for a still more gratifying output, and the local inhabitants to effectively exploit agricultural resources in the area.
The Association members explained that water resources in the area are being used prudently in line with the pervasive practice of irrigation farming.
The Association of farmers in Alebu area was founded in 2011 with 160 members and currently is in charge of carrying out farming activities on 40 hectares.
