The youths in the Central region said that the National Youth Festival is a basis to demonstrate the prevailing harmony among the Eritrean youths and nurture national values.
Asmara, 7 July 2012 – The youths in the Central region said that the National Youth Festival is a basis to demonstrate the prevailing harmony among the Eritrean youths and nurture national values.
Indicating that the frequent staging of different cultural activities in connection with the event entails positive influence on the young generation, Selamawit Tesfamariam, one of them, explained that the Festival also serves as a forum for open discussion and exchange of experience.
In the same vein, Meron Abraham said that youths have been provided ground to display creative works in the Festival, and that the creation of such environment attests to the national endeavors towards promoting the capacity of youths.
Mr. Jelani Ibrahim, head of the Festival’s coordinating committee in the Central region, indicated on his part that around 360 youths would take part in general knowledge, cultural and sports contests. The fact that the festival is to be conducted in Sawa also provides further dimension to the message being conveyed through the event.
The 5th National Youth Festival would take place in Sawa from 13 to 15 July.
