New museum opens in Nacfa

A new museum has opened in Nacfa town. Nacfa, 9 July 2012 – A new museum has opened in Nacfa town.

Brig. General Tekle Kiflai headed the inauguration ceremony which was conducted in the presence of Army commanders, religious leaders, the town’s elders and veteran fighters.

Stating that the availability of such museum in Nacfa area which is momentous in the history of the Eritrean armed struggle for independence is of paramount importance, Mr. Idris Ali Shiker, Administrator of Nacfa sub-zone, voiced conviction that it would play significant role in the preservation of relics and historical sites. He further indicated that the initial material goods of the museum are leftovers of the recent process of collecting skeletons of martyrs.

The town of Nacfa by itself is an open museum of the Eritrean people’s armed struggle, and the new museum in the town would make vital contribution in this regard, stated Mr. Yohanes Gebreyesus, head of the Northern Red Sea region’s museum. He also commended the collaboration of the local administration in the opening of the museum and called on the inhabitants to extend a helping hand in endeavors to upgrade its vitality.
