The Ministry of Health said that it is exerting the necessary endeavors to enhance human resource capacity. Mr. Yemane Haile, head of human resource development in the Ministry, indicated that considerable accomplishments have been registered to attain the desired number of health professionals in line with the expanding number of health institutions throughout the country. Asmara, 10 July 2012 – The Ministry of Health said that it is exerting the necessary endeavors to enhance human resource capacity. Mr. Yemane Haile, head of human resource development in the Ministry, indicated that considerable accomplishments have been registered to attain the desired number of health professionals in line with the expanding number of health institutions throughout the country.
He further pointed out that various colleges and training centers have been opened, and that numerous health professionals have graduated from them with advanced education ranging from certificate to Doctorate degree in the field of Medicine.
Reports indicate that post-graduate courses pertaining to general surgery, pediatrics and maternity are provided in Orotta Medical University, and that numerous staff of the Ministry have been sent abroad to upgrade their academic status.
Stating that establishment of cancer treatment center is underway, Mr. Yemane stated that the Ministry is exerting endeavors with a view to nurturing professionals in the domains of ophthalmic, internal disease and ENT services.
