Thousands of National Youth Festival participants arrived in Sawa to take part in the Festival which would be conducted 13 to 15 July.

Sawa, 12 July 2012 – Thousands of National Youth Festival participants arrived in Sawa to take part in the Festival which would be conducted 13 to 15 July.

Participant citizens from the Diaspora indicated that the event is a good basis for them to observe development activities in the country alongside the objective situation, besides the environment it provides for exchange of experience.

Mr. Tewolde Adem, who is in Sawa with his 5 children, said that such an occasion is vital in nurturing national values in the minds of youths.

Semere Tsegai and Ermias Haile, from Australia and Saudi Arabia respectively, expressed satisfaction with the landscape they observed and historical places they visited on their way.

Meanwhile, reports indicated that a number of youth nationals have arrived from the Republic of Sudan via Arb’atasher to take part in the Festival in which tens of thousands would participate. The youths indicated that they started to organize the trip 3 months ago, and that they would take part in all contests in the Festival.

Among Eritrean youths from the Republic of Sudan, Robel Girmai, Huda Tekie and Saba Habtetsion, explained that they have organized a tour to observe development accomplishments in Gash-Barka region. They also expressed readiness to demonstrate staunch resistance against anti-Eritrea agenda.

Such Festival is a vital basis to reflect the prevailing spirit of harmony among the Eritrean youths inside the country and abroad, Michael Kiros said.
