Effective utilization of social service facilities being witnessed in Adobha sub-zone

The inhabitants of Adobha sub-zone indicated that they could effectively utilize social service facilities upon promoting community-based style of living. Adobha, 17 July 2012 – The inhabitants of Adobha sub-zone indicated that they could effectively utilize social service facilities upon promoting community-based style of living.

Mr. Ahmed Mohammed-Nur Rejeb, Administrator of the sub-zone, pointed out that around 400 families who used to lead nomadic style of living have already settled in Dirit area and become beneficiaries of educational, health and potable water supply facilities. He further explained that there exist 6 schools in the locality rendering services from kindergarten to junior school level, besides hand pump driven and solar-energy-powered potable water supply facilities in Dirit, Adobha, Kedihat, Midngag and Arierib.

Reports indicate that a health center and 3 clinics are available in Adobha sub-zone.

Mr. Ahmed also said that the local inhabitants have been carrying out popular undertakings as regards digging water wells, soil and water conservation, as well as construction of dirt roads and micro dams.

Adobha sub-zone, which encompasses 6 Administrative areas, has around 16,000 inhabitants who make a living on the basis of farming and herding.
