President Isaias holds talks with an Iranian delegation

President Isaias Afwerki yesterday held talks with a delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran headed by Ms. Nasrin Soltankhah, Vice President of Science and Technology Affairs. Asmara, 20 July 2012 – President Isaias Afwerki yesterday held talks with a delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran headed by Ms. Nasrin Soltankhah, Vice President of Science and Technology Affairs.

In the meeting at State House, Ms. Nasrin delivered a message from President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran inviting President Isaias to attend the 16th Non-aligned Summit to be held from 26 to 31 August in Tehran.

During the meeting, President Isaias underlined that the main objective of the Non-aligned Movement should be reforming the organization as that of the effort being made to reform the United Nations.

Ms. Nasrin stated that the Non-aligned Movement is the biggest organization after the UN, and that its strengthening would benefit the people of Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. She further explained that the people of these countries should decide their destiny and work for their development.
