The infrastructure department of the Northern Red Sea region disclosed that it has implemented a number of projects over the past 3 years at a state expenditure of 150 million Nakfa. Massawa, 26 July 2012 – The infrastructure department of the Northern Red Sea region disclosed that it has implemented a number of projects over the past 3 years at a state expenditure of 150 million Nakfa. The projects which are pertinent to the setup and renovation of potable water supply, solar energy and education facilities are being implemented through joint ventures with Red Sea and Segen national construction companies, it added.
Reports indicate that potable water supply facilities which operate through solar energy and hand pumps have been put in place in Afabet, Gedged, Metkel-Abet, Weqiro, Nefasit, Embatkala, Felket, Gahtelai, Gel’alo, Krora, Adobha, Adaito, Shebah, Asus, Aphta, Gadim-Halib and other areas respectively, besides the ongoing construction of teachers’ education center and a boarding school. It further indicated that elementary, junior and secondary schools have been built in Nacfa, Ginda, She’ib, Foro and Gel’alo towns, in addition to the establishment of laboratories in the schools in Afabet and Ginda.
The regional Administration also pointed out that the setup of schemes pertaining to rain gauges around the rivers of Asa-Ela, Haddas, Ali-Gede, Laba, Mai-Ule, Moga’e, Felket, Mahmime and Mai-Habar has been finalized.
