They also pointed out that tree seedlings they had planted earlier have flourished well.
Indicating that the cherished goal of the undertaking is that of attaining impressive green area, Ms. Kedija Mohammed Omar, Ms. Amna Ismael and Ms. Akhiar Chewai said that active community participation was demonstrated in the process, and that cactus variety trees have mushroomed more than expected in the area.
Mr. Jabera Mohammed Ali, head of the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in Nacfa sub-zone, stated that more than 120,000 diverse tree seedlings have been planted and 180 hectares have been terraced, besides 60 micro-dams that were recently constructed in the locality through similar initiative. He also lauded the inhabitants for demonstrating active participation in the undertaking, and called on them to attentively follow up the planted tree seedlings.
