Endeavors by ENWVA bringing about remarkable impact on improvement of members’ livelihood: Report

The Eritrean National War-disabled Veterans Association (ENWVA) indicated that endeavors exerted as regards the rehabilitation of members through various income generating activities have made remarkable impact.

Asmara, 28 July 2012 – The Eritrean National War-disabled Veterans Association (ENWVA) indicated that endeavors exerted as regards the rehabilitation of members through various income generating activities have made remarkable impact. It made the statement on 27 July at a meeting in which it was stated that the process of rehabilitating members this year focused on different agricultural and trade activities, the outcome of which was reportedly highlighted as being better than that of last year.

A total of 561 Association members were rehabilitated through livestock at a total expenditure of 6 million Nakfa as 415 obtained training courses, besides 200 others who got rehabilitated on the basis of plant production and apiculture, reports added. A total of 1,500 wheelchairs were reportedly made available to members at reasonable price, and that Association-owned chalk and optical production centers, as well as bakery and mill business ventures are playing vital role in income generation.

Mr. Gebrebirhan Eyasu, Chairman of the ENWVA, pointed out that members are demonstrating stepped-up endeavors to make good use of the support and credit opportunities extended by the Association, and the timely payment of credits attests to the successful outcome of the scheme.
