National Festival 2012 to be conducted from August 25 to September 2: Report

The National Festival 2012 would be conducted from August 25 to September 2. Asmara, 1 August 2012 – The National Festival 2012 would be conducted from August 25 to September 2.

Mr. Kahsai Gebrehiwet, Administrator of the Central region, indicated that the Festival would feature different exhibition camps, bazaar, cultural contests by sub-zonal and Area Administrations, and display of creative works, as well as a variety of cultural shows.

The festival would annually be hosted in every Administrative region from now onwards and it is the Central region’s turn to organize such event this year, Mr. Tesfai Berhe, Administrator of the National Holidays’ Coordinating Committee, stated. He also indicated that such a manner of organizing the event would ensure a good basis for the Administrative regions to exclusively depict their resources, cultural diversity, tourism potential and development accomplishments, besides the fact that it saves energy and property damage resulting from transportation.

Mr. Tesfai called on government and private institutions to enhance participation in the great event.
