Tsaeda Emba Monastery crucial in reviving domestic tourism, Say pilgrims

A number of pilgrims who visited the historical Monastery of Tsaeda Emba said that it is crucial in reviving domestic tourism. They further voiced deep impression for the 6-centuries-old parchment manuscripts and other relics of significant value in the Monastery, besides the diversity of vegetation and wildlife they enjoyed on their way. Hagaz, 1 August 2012 – A number of pilgrims who visited the historical Monastery of Tsaeda Emba said that it is crucial in reviving domestic tourism. They further voiced deep impression for the 6-centuries-old parchment manuscripts and other relics of significant value in the Monastery, besides the diversity of vegetation and wildlife they enjoyed on their way.

Rev. Aron Andom, Chairman of the churches in Keren sub-zone, invited interested citizens to visit the monastery and enjoy the hospitality there. Mr. Mohammed Ali Idris, head of religious affairs in Anseba region, called on the pertinent bodies to focus on investing in revitalizing the monastery as it is one of the country’s main historical sites.

Aba Woldekidan Abizghi, the monastery’s head, and Aba Abraham Ogbamichael, head of administration and finance in the shrine, explained that numerous citizens from inside the country and abroad come in pilgrimage to the 4-centuries-old monastery.

Tsaeda Emba Monastery is located 35 Km. south-east of Hagaz semi-urban center.
