The Administration of Goluj sub-zone indicated that a diversion canal in Driesa has been renovated through integrating popular undertaking and machinery. It further pointed out that the canal has been lacking effectiveness due to sediment deposit, and that farming activities would be conducted on 232 hectares in line with its renovation. Mr. Ezra Gebrekidan, coordinator of the undertaking, and Mr. Redi’e Bahlibi, head of economic development in the sub-zone, called on the beneficiaries of the diversion canal, all of them family members of martyrs, to ensure its prudent utilization. They further indicated that the opportunity would significantly enhance the beneficiaries’ income-generation capacity.
