Farmers in Barentu sub-zone said that they are carrying out rain-fed farming activities on 8,000 hectares thanks to the availability of ample tractors in the area. Pointing out that they made adequate land preparation and thus tilled wider cultivation area, the farmers voiced satisfaction with the reasonable rent of tractors. Barentu, 4 August 2012 – Farmers in Barentu sub-zone said that they are carrying out rain-fed farming activities on 8,000 hectares thanks to the availability of ample tractors in the area. Pointing out that they made adequate land preparation and thus tilled wider cultivation area, the farmers voiced satisfaction with the reasonable rent of tractors.
From the Administrative area of Sisima, Mr. Osman Gagie and Mr. Bahar Tela stated that crops have already approached ripening. Mr. Kiflai Gebremedhin from the Administrative area of Anagulu on his part indicated that the impact of timely land preparation has made positive outcome in the farming process.
Mr. Yonas Tesfazgi, head of crop and animal development in the sub-zone, voiced appreciation for the accomplishment registered through the hard work of farmers.
