Goluj sub-zone witnessing active community participation as regards malaria control

The Health Ministry’s branch in Goluj sub-zone stated that active popular participation is being witnessed in endeavors towards ensuring malaria control in the locality.

Goluj, 7 August 2012 – The Health Ministry’s branch in Goluj sub-zone stated that active popular participation is being witnessed in endeavors towards ensuring malaria control in the locality.

Mr. Arefaine Menan, head of malaria control in the sub-zone, and Mr. Omar Mohammed, Administrator of Goluj sub-zone, pointed out that training as regards malaria has been given to 60 community members from 14 Administrative areas with a view to giving added momentum to the process. They further indicated that growing community awareness regarding the disease has become a stepping stone to better accomplishment towards attaining the cherished goal, and called on the inhabitants to keep intact such initiative.

Indicating that the nation has already registered impressive achievement as regards malaria control, Mr. Afwerki Araya, head of malaria control in Gash-Barka region, lauded the initiative taken by the inhabitants of Goluj sub-zone to prevent the possibility of morbidity due to the disease.
