Members of the Eritrean community in Holland extended material support to Debarwa Elementary School on August 7. Debarwa, 10 August 2012 – Members of the Eritrean community in Holland extended material support to Debarwa Elementary School on August 7.

Mr. Gebre Fisehatsion, coordinator of the project, said that the support organized in the form of a project was initiated pursuing the motive of “1 Euro per day saving” by citizens comprising parents, youths and juvenile students with a view to inspiring those born abroad to develop strong bond with their people and the Homeland.

Mr. Yohanes Zecarias, the project’s finance head, explained that the support comprises teaching materials and sports wears altogether worth 70,000 Nakfa, and that they would step up endeavors to reinforce the project.

Mr. Mohammed Ali Amar, director of the school, indicated on his part that potable water supply facility is being put in place at the school on the basis of a companionship established between the school and the Eritrean community school of Warsai in Holland.

Mr. Merih Kiros, head of the Education Ministry’s branch in Debarwa sub-zone, said that such support attests to the prevailing deep sense of nationalism among nationals residing abroad, and that the inhabitants of the locality have built 29 additional class rooms and fences for 29 schools at an expenditure of 1.2 million Nakfa.
