Asmara, 13 August 2012 – The Ministry of Education said that it is exerting endeavors to introduce Technology and Information System Education at all levels in an equitable manner.
Mr. Alem Habte, director of the Ministry’s Information Technology and Communications branch, said that such education was limited to secondary education level since 2005, and that the current endeavor aims at introducing it in junior and elementary schools.
According to reports a total of 125 secondary schools nationwide, 21 of which apply solar panels, offer computer courses.
“We need to nurture competent students in this challenging era of information and technology revolution. And a huge budget has been allocated in this regard to be implemented in the second half of the current year with major focus on rural areas,” Mr. Alem elaborated.
