She’ib, 13 August 2012 – The Administration of She’ib sub-zone said that active popular participation was witnessed in the implementation of development programs in 2012.
Mr. Abdurahman Mohammed Dirar, Acting Administrator of the sub-zone, pointed out that impressive accomplishments were registered through community-based undertakings as regards soil and water conservation in Gedged, Mensheb, Wed’ilo, Shelshela, Weqiro, Tiluk and other areas, in addition to the successful resettlement of 51 families from the mountainous area of Agembusa who were rehabilitated on the basis of 50 hectares of farmland and 700 livestock. Moreover, solar energy-powered potable water supply facilities have been put in place in Gedged and Weqiro, while geological surveys have been conducted in Laba and Mai-Ule targeting underground water, he added.
The sub-zonal Administration further explained that the mapping of master plan for Mensheb semi-urban center has been finalized, besides the construction of a secondary school there, 75% of which has been completed.
Mr. Abdurahman called on the inhabitants to sustain their active participation in the national development drive.
