Molqi, 26 August 2012- The inhabitants of Molqi sub-zone are reinforcing activities to control the prevalence of malaria, Mr. Fishale Gebredingil, head of the health center in the sub-zone, expressed.
He explained that previously inhabitants of the sub-zone had been suffering from the disease but today their awareness has increased through popular campaigns and that the prevalence of the disease has been dramatically reduced.
Mr. Isaias Nur, representative of the malaria control program in the sub-zone, on his part indicated that health representatives have been trained and assigned to villages where there are no heath centers and that they are applying on the ground what they have been trained.
From the traines Ms. Wubet Gebremedhin, from Tikul administrative area, said that growing community awareness regarding the disease has been the factor for the decrease of the malaria prevalence.
From health representatives Mr. Neguse Okbamicael and Mr. Medhanie Tezare expressed that the training they received would help them in applying they capacity on the ground and that they would contribute their level best in the endeavors to eradicate the prevalence of malaria in their locality.
