The Eritrean Investment Conference which was conducted under the theme “Popular Development by the People for the People” and in which broad participation of nationals from inside the country and abroad was witnessed concluded today.
Asmara, 28 August 2012 – The Eritrean Investment Conference which was conducted under the theme “Popular Development by the People for the People” and in which broad participation of nationals from inside the country and abroad was witnessed concluded today.
Dr. Woldai Fitur, Head of the Eritrean Investment Center, pointed out that the views exchanged during the conference are a prerequisite for the Second National Investment Conference due to be conducted by the end of the current year, and that the Government would step up endeavors to enhance favorable environment for investment.
Reports indicated that a number of papers pertaining to the agriculture, tourism, trade, infrastructure and other sectors were presented in the conference, on the basis of which the participants conducted extensive discussion and exchanged views as regards the buying of shares and the like. Stating that the conference is timely vis-à-vis their expectations, the participants lauded the Government’s commitment to foster investment initiatives targeting opportunities in the country.
Mr. Ahmed Abdu from Anseba region and Mr. Tesfamariam Teklai from the Southern region pointed out that they would make use of the opportunity.
Ms. Asgede Gebregziabher and Mr. Amanuel Amha from Zambia and the USA respectively voiced satisfaction with having taken part in the conference, and said that they would avail themselves of investment opportunity in the Homeland.
