Endeavors being exerted as regards enhancing production capacity of inmates in Mendefera city

The Prison and Rehabilitation Center in Mendefera city indicated that it is exerting endeavors as regards enhancing the production capacity of inmates. Mendefera, 30 August 2012 – The Prison and Rehabilitation Center in Mendefera city indicated that it is exerting endeavors as regards enhancing the production capacity of inmates.

Lt. Colonel Tesfazgi Yohanes, Commander of the Prison and Rehabilitation Center, said that academic service up to Grade 6 was rendered during the past academic year, besides the sports activities organized in line with the program.

Stating that health seminars have also been given by professionals, Mr. Mengisteab Gebremichael, a teacher in the Prison and Rehabilitation Center, commended the concentration of the inmates in academic pursuit, and called on stakeholders to back the initiative.

Inmates who demonstrated outstanding performance in academic and sports activities were awarded prizes during the closing ceremony of the past academic year, during which cultural show and general knowledge contest were staged.
