He made the call during a working visit in the sub-zones of Debarwa, Mendefera and Emni-Haili. In a meeting he conducted with exemplary farmers, Mr. Arefaine indicated that the Ministry and stakeholders are engaged in joint venture with a view to adequately distributing select cereals, oil crops and sweet potato, in addition to buffalo and other dairy cattle to farmers.

Mr. Omar Musa who owns 20 hectares of irrigated farm in the area of Mai-Alekti Dam voiced conviction that he has managed to boost harvest in line with the use of select crops on the basis of expert advice. Likewise, Mr. Reda’e Gebreab and Mr. Fiseha Woldekidan who have cultivated new mustard variety on 2.4 hectares indicated that the advisory role of experts was vital in the process which has become promising.

Upon cultivating a variety of select cereals, fruits, and vegetables, Mr. Tesfai Abraha from Maedo area, Emni-Haili sub-zone, pointed out that he is carrying out promising farming activities in line with the availability of reliable water resource.
