Inhabitants of Tekombia and Alebu semi-urban centers express satisfaction with available bridges

The inhabitants of Tekombia and Alebu semi-urban centers, Gash-Barka region, voiced satisfaction with bridges built at government expense. Stating that the absence of such bridges along Gash River used to cause socio-economic quandaries vis-à-vis instances of property loss, they said that the putting in place of such facilities attests to the Government’s commitment towards ensuring social justice. Asmara, 1 September 2012 – The inhabitants of Tekombia and Alebu semi-urban centers, Gash-Barka region, voiced satisfaction with bridges built at government expense. Stating that the absence of such bridges along Gash River used to cause socio-economic quandaries vis-à-vis instances of property loss, they said that the putting in place of such facilities attests to the Government’s commitment towards ensuring social justice.

Among the inhabitants of Tekombia area, Mr. Ahmed Alfeki, Ms. Alu Lali and Mr. Habtai Abrehe expressed conviction that the construction of the bridge there has facilitated the movement of agricultural commodities, besides the safety it has ensured as regards human life and livestock.

Likewise, Mr. Abdullahi Ali Bekit and Mr. Al-Amin Mohammed Shengeb, inhabitants of Haikota, indicated that the new bridge has guaranteed socio-economic stability, thus playing vital role in improving their livelihood.
